Turning Andrew’s Airstream into “He-Man”

Andrew and I discussed this upgrade for the better part of last year. After some in depth discussions about what his ideal Boondocking set up would look like, Andrew jokingly said one day that he wanted to turn his Airstream into “He-Man”. For those of you who do not know “He-Man”, one of his signature catch phrases is: “Ive Got the Power!!!”. We certainly turned his Airstream into “He-Man” in the summer of 2022.

Andrew’s Journey

Boondocking has been something Andrew has been working towards for quite a while now. I work with a lot of folks that love to be off grid, but Andrew’s story was closer to home.

“This idea to travel and explore freely with fewer limitations was born long ago in the fog of battling cancer, where I was in and out of chemo and radiation treatment hospital inpatient stays for ten months and had years more of chemo afterward.

Despite the tremendous pain, there still was much love, laughter, and sharing with family and friends, during that time. While much of my memory is broken from that time, the feelings of inspiration and wonder from tales of our dear family friends‘ high adventures, traveling up the Western Coast to Alaska or wherever their hearts and free spirits inspired them with their fifth wheel, did stick, break through in my mind, and become a bucket list dream worth fighting for, and now here I go…” -Andrew
